I think the morning would have gone a TAD smoother and less chaotic if Tuesday night with Jillian hadn't been so bad. I decided around 4 am (after being up for about 4 hours) that I was going to sleep until the girls got up, instead of waking up at 6 am, getting myself ready and then tackling the two of them when they awoke.
I woke up to the cries of Jillian at 6:30 am (not too bad) and then started "my workout". The next hour and 15 minutes were crazy! I had to feed the baby, bathe the baby, get the baby dressed (and somewhat calmed down) and loaded in her carseat. Meanwhile, I had to make sure Jordyn was up and dressed (thank God she can do this herself), hair done and teeth brushed. Easy enough, right?
Oh wait- I also have to get ready. This is where is got a little tricky!
I kind of "took care of myself" between all of this madness. I did my hair when Jillian was calm on her play mat. I got dressed after Jordyn did.
My goal was to leave the house by 8 am, until I realized I didn't have enough gas for the day's adventures. So 7:45 it was!
And we did it!
But let me tell you- I was exhausted by the time I sat in the car and was pulling out of the drive way.
Let me note that my make-up (that never got done while at the house) was applied while the car was filling up. Yes, I was one of THOSE mothers!
By the time we passed back by the house and made our way out it was a few minutes after 8 am. I had accomplished my goal.
The other goal/task for the day- survive the 30 minute drive to my parent's house with both girls in the car. John and I had done it on Sunday but now I was alone. Thankfully Jordyn has always done pretty darn good in the car and so far her baby sister is taking after her. The ride was smooth sailing.
On the agenda for the day- go visit my Grandma. This required an additonal 40 minute drive but again both girls did great!
