Seven on Sunday (3)

*Please note: In true Mommy fashion I typed this post while getting a pedicure this afternoon.
Serious multi-tasker!

1) Jillian's sleep is definitely getting better. We have a pretty good routine going during the day and an even better routine right before bed. She does well during the first part of the night and we are working on the second part right before morning hits. But all in all, I can't compain.

2) I woke up yesterday morning and realized I was out of regular coffee. Is that even possible? I made do with a cup of decaf and then stocked up when we went to Costco later on. I am set for a while!

3) John and I have been working a lot around the house these past two weekends trying to get caught up on projects. We got some pillows for the living room and some art work for by the kitchen table. We are still in search for a new couch and rug for the family room (been in search for a LONG time!). Yesterday our new futon came for the office so I will be finishing up that room later on today! Progress feels great!

4) I went to a pampered chef part on Friday night and had a great time. Yummy food, good wine, great company= fantastic night!

5) A couple of months back John bought Jordyn a slip-n-slide. It hasn't been used a lot thanks to the wonderful Salinas summer, but she did get a chance to use it yesterday. She is still a little hesitant (she walks through it instead of sliding) but still enjoys it!

6) I can't believe it has been 10 years since we were attacked. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember waking up and walking into my parent's room to see my mom sitting on her bed crying. I remember the day at school- I was a senior in high school. Everyone walked around in a daze. We had a prayer service. I remember the weeks that followed. Ten years later and it is still fresh. I am thankful for all the men and women who helped that day, who put others first. The firemen and police officers. The pilots and flight attendants. Those who provided aid. I am forever thankful for the men and women who fight to protect our country. Freedom is earned and they earn it for us.

7) Jordyn, Jillian and I did a video skype yesterday morning with my cousin who is living down south for the semester. It was my first time doing that and I loved it! So incredibly neat that technology allows us to visit with loved ones who are miles away.
